Buy keto strips and it will tell you when you go into Ketosis. As someone who has dieted and did keto for years. I will tell you 12 .. no way… 12 hours will barely used up the glycogen stored in the liver… then there is more muscle glycogen… it usually takes 3 days of no food to be in full ketosis.

I have the keto strips at home and you pee on it. I did a 40 hour fast and was not close to be In ketosis.

IF works because you feed in small window I did IF for 6 months. Only eat at 12PM to 6 PM, but that doesn’t mean you can eat whatever you want. Calories are still calories. The bottom line is you’ll never lose any weight if you’re not in a deficit.

What I have been doing right now is, fast every other day. I was going to do it every other two days, but, I found out I feel just fine doing it every other day. 16 hour fast. 10:00pm till 2:00pm. Today I am fast, I will have something at 2:00pm here not long from now.

I look this up, and it says 12 hours is enough for *mild ketosis. It says after 12 hours your glucose supply is gone. Which normally happens when waking up after sleep. I don't know how people sleep for 12 hours though....

The idea here, is go into ketosis after 12 hours, mild ketosis, then stay there with keto diet. I read it.

You learned about keto from former information in the past. Maybe you need update on new research done it.

Back in the 90's I read a paper that said, The reason rich people have poor health and poor people have good health, is because of the junk food. The junk food was expensive, and only rich people had the money for it. The protien and veggy foods where cheap, very cheap, so the poor people ate it. When the rich people learned this, they changed things so the junk food was cheap, and the healthy food was expensive. This way the poor people would have the bad health, and the rich would be fit. And that is how it is today.

This thing from the 90's is the reason I wanted to look up, 'What do rich people eat?' They are eating the japanese diet, but with more lean meats and less carbs. At least here in US.

I subtract 1.0, so I can see the kcal other than the resting rate. The calories for that time period are really higher.

I got off track, I was supposed to be making yarn on the spinning wheel so I could burn up calories, and stay busy, NEAT. Somewhere, I suddenly started doing it for business. Because I started doing it for money. I failed as a result.

The lesson here, I want to say, is something that Jesus Talked about when following him. Stay on the path, do not turn to one side or the other. What happened to me, is I went of the path, because I started chasing after money. Jesus said not to chase after money.

It got worse, because I just started up a violin restore business. I buy old violins and fix them for resale. I completely stopped with the spinning wheel.

With the current market, I can sell they yarn at cost to get more fibre.

Being fat of skinny is not the goal its to be healthy and lose weight doing hobbies or work you enjoy. Joining a hiking club, dance groups, martial art, swimming, cycling.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 - Don't you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and who was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourselves but to God; he bought you for a price. So use your bodies for God's glory.

We should be conscious enough to take care of this temple. Of course, everyday is not perfect. There are instances we have to do with what is presented, but pray to God to give us strength to keep on taking care of our bodies in a way God will be happy about.

It works. I stopped fasting after a serious illness. I put on weight that I find hard to take off. The medical profession does not help. They can't agree what a healthy weight is.

How about lemonade instead of water?
Becareful with drinking too much lemonade. The acid can cause damage. I was making homemade lemonade and drinking it like tea or kookaid. I ended up getting ill until I stopped.

I'll have to watch my consumption. I drink Tropicana Lemonade. Good stuff for sure.

Also, certain medications increase the chances of diabetes, so consuming too much sugar is not good, but thank God, there are substitutes like stevia.

Calories in calories out is the problem. I take medicine that makes me feel hungry, always hungry. I will try doing this thing now. Someone one time said that if you eat before you are hungry enough, you will get fat. And again they said, and if you eat too much when you eat you will gain weight.

With the medicine I feel hungry, but it does get much worse at meal time. So I want try waiting until I am hungry enough before eating. Which could be about 6 hours after a meal.

I was doing well on the portion size attempt, but it's the same as fasting. You start eating lots later.

Maybe research on insulin resistance? If you can get your insulin levels down and maintain them lower, calories out will go way up, and then you don't have to watch so much what you eat? (Not medical advice, but something I'm starting to look into).

Are you not just thirsty? Most people don't actually know what hunger feels like. Sounds silly until the difference is understood.

An easy way to know what thirst is as follows. Do you wake up feeling hungry? If so, that is not hunger, it is thirst. This is common if you eat late, especially something salty or nutritionally poor. You end up very thirsty over night and realise it when waking.

Generally speaking people do not drink enough water and electrolyte imbalances are very common.
