Hey ladies, im a teen girl, wanted to know your thoughts on makeup. What age is appropriate to start wearing makeup? For self confidence sake, I mean. Been wondering if I should start, then again, might just wait.

I'm 27 years old and don't wear makeup lol. I think it's a beautiful thing when girls love and accept their natural features (not to say it's a sin to wear it). Often (but not always) things like complexion, acne, etc. can be improved with a change of diet or some healthy skincare. (I have sensitive skin and am very picky what I use on my skin)

I also have this theory that makeup ages you faster... I don't know for sure but i don't wanna take a chance lol.

I’m 19, I started wearing a little makeup when I was about 17. I think it’s really important to develop confidence in yourself without makeup before venturing into using it. One thing my friends who started wearing makeup earlier struggle with is feeling beautiful when they aren’t made up since they’re so used to it now, so I would say take it at your own pace and remember that we are all beautiful, makeup or not, God created us after all. God bless 💖

I have to b honest , I LOVE to c a young lady with no make up on . Originally in western culture , make up was first used by prostitutes to display the fact that they were prostitutes , so other women never wore it !
As a young woman my mum taught me that I should use make up to either : enhance the best bit of my face or to help detract from the worst feature on my face . So , if u have nice eyes , enhance them with a bit of mascara perhaps ? If u have a nose that u don't like , use make up to enhance a different part of your face to draw attention away from your nose , that kind of thing . Also when I was young , the trend was to wear very natural looking make up , to try to make it look as if u weren't wearing any at all .
I've always found it so bizarre that young women , who r at the peak of their gorgeousness ( probably all women under 35 in my opinion ) wear so much make up when they r the women who need it least ! It's oldies like me that need a bit of make up ! Not lovely young ladies ! I have five gorgeous step daughters and it grieved me to c their lovely young faces plastered in all kinds of goo , hiding their natural beauty . I guess my attitude is old fashioned but I make no apology for that . Look after your skin , cleanse ( not with soap ) moisturize , drink lots of water , plenty of sleep , not much alcohol or caffeine and , u will look gorgeous and u won't need loads of goo on your face . Sorry if I've given u an answer that u weren't expecting 😆 I'm sure that your natural youth and beauty do not need a load of chemicals . Leave the war paint for the old ladies like me ! 😜 . And keep your face out of the sun ! 😬

Just a simple 'thank you' to the three of you for whatever you do to help young women and girls to realize and understand that self confidence does not come from make up - that 'natural' is the best self confidence that can be had or shown.

Not to mention, a lot of make up today is quite unhealthy! Do you know what goes into some of it?

Yep, I fully agree! Old hags like myself should not only be the ones applying experimental chemicals to our faces, but also qualify for ludicrous discounts so everyone can see for themselves what miracles makeup can do.😂😂😂😂😂

Oh gosh, I forgot to add my point here. You young ladies don’t really need makeup as much as us old ladies. So if there’s a shortage it ain’t no stocking up on your part. It ain’t you girls who can’t leave your home without a solid paint job applied to your face first lol.

For the price of makeup nowadays you shouldn't wear it until you can get it on a senior discount.;)

There's no strict age that's “right” for starting makeup, it really depends on how you feel. Many girls start experimenting with light makeup like lip gloss or mascara in early teens, around 13 to 15, especially for boosting self-confidence. If you’re curious and feel it might help you express yourself or feel more confident, it’s totally okay to start small. But waiting is fine too, there’s no rush. Do what feels right for you, not what others expect.
