All these men were Christians, I was trying to be gracious, forgiving, and not judgmental. I'm also coming out of a denomination where it was drilled into us to never judge others, "love covers a multitude of wrongs," and honor culture (where you can't point out a person's faults, anyone can find the dirt but look for the gold, etc). So now I need to learn how to balance grace for others and dignity for myself. I'm learning that kindness and being more like Jesus does NOT equal being a push over.
For me, it wasn't about being a people pleaser at all. I was the one that ended it with each man because of their red flags.
That's not surprising at all, and I did not say you were being a people pleaser... online people can say
whatever they want about themslves, with next to zero accountability. And the whole "judge not" thing
is ridiculous, we are supposed to judge with righteous judgment, and I am glad you were able to do that...
