While I agree with your thought in general, on the same token, loving someone means also changing yourself, including your quirks, in consideration of others. Personally I don't identify my uniqueness based on my quirks but rather by the bond and relationship I have with Christ as a believer...

You are right, your spouse now being your best friend and a closest family member; no problem there. Also, what if one is living by him/herself, away from family and having no friends around? Nothing's wrong with a single Christian wishing and hoping to have that significant other in your life...

Great question. I used to ask a similar question and it was 'if you had a daughter, would you give your daughter to someone like me?' and my answer was 'dude, I don't think so - don't even think about it.' Soon enough the question evolved into whether God would give one of His daughters to me...

I believe one of most powerful "preaching" is your own life - preaching with your mouth one thing yet your life does not reflect what you preach, then it loses credibility. See if your life aligns with what you preach because people, especially non-believers to catch if you are real or fake.

It's a hypothetical situation. So the questions why do I need to wait 5 or ten years, what is the other person doing and how I know it is guaranteed are irrelevant. Same thing with how will I know he/she is "perfect" (thus why in quotation mark). The real question I was asking myself was...
