Perhaps we should reflect on the grace of God for our fathers. I will start with just an introduction because I would need to write a book to honor my Dad properly.
He started as an honorable young man, a Protector of his family and Master Gunner in the US Army.
He represented the Army as a competitive Boxer. I fondly remember him playing songs on the speed bag in the basement. It was a blur as he took song requests. This is a skill few pro fighters can do. He was always athletic and health conscious. That was one of his gifts to me for enjoying life.
Dad earned a position as the General's (NorCom) assistant to drive him point of major convoys to secret fortifications. He was a Plotter and high level Intelligence Specialist.
Dad was an awesome husband and father, providing for us by cutting hair. He had a long career as a Barber and the best at what he did.
He was very masculine and from a father who stood up against the mafia crime syndicate to protect our family. We came to a safer haven in America where Dad was born years later.
Much of what you read in my posts was wisdom that my Dad passed onto me.
That gave me a lot of advantages in life from my youth on.
There is a long list of advantages and blessings that I thank my heavenly Father for often. He provided me a wonderful Dad who set good examples of what a man should be.
He showed me love and that is most important. Tangible, physical things are temporary, but love is everlasting and life is eternal.
A staff member at the Clarksburg, West Virginia VA took his life the day I scheduled an ambulance to get him to a safe place. Mass murders in that hell of a hospital were investigated and one of the staff was convicted of mass murder of patients. As some of you can attest to, it's very traumatic to lose a parent you love. I believe that as tough as it is, having the person you love the most, taken in such a diabolical manner is far worse than even natural causes. It took the Lord's kindness to get me through that.
One thing that the Holy Spirit comforts me with overwhelming gratitude is that I had the honor of leading my loving Dad to Christ just 2 months before he went to Heaven.
I look forward to going fishing with him in the river of life and sharing history with him once again.
I love my Dad with all of my heart.
He made it easy to love our Heavenly Father with all our heart too.
Happy Father's Day Lord!
