2 Kings 2:11
And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and E-li'-jah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
(I was talking with my friend about one week a go about the Bible. He is somewhat an agnostic that is coming around to Christianity as we have had many debates and discussions over the years on all manner of things in the Bible. Basically the premise of our latest study was Bible Miracles. To which I read to him the whole Chapter 2 of The Second Book of Kings (basically being the taking of Elijah up to the heavens and Elisha taking up the Mantle of Elijah.) My friend enjoyed it and I am glad it has helped in getting him more interested in the Bible and the traditions therein. It was also helpful because it helps us know some more things with a clearer understanding about the ancient world, the office of Prophet, and the nature of Miracles. This itself has in turn led me personally into exploring some deeper facets of the faith and I have particularly been studying some of the time of Elijah and what he did in his life, and what implications Elijah may have on future prophecies on my own since then. It is worth a look in my opinion and I have enjoyed such study much myself.)
