My husband never tells me who he is voting for. Except in the last election, when I became a rabid convert to Harper and conservativism, really, anything to stop Trudeau 2.0. Then he admitted he had always voted conservative. Which I think I probably had figured out.

You people really need to convert to a parliamentary democracy. We don't have to go through all this horrifically long year of campaigning. We just take what the parties offer, and vote for the local candidate, who of course is running for one of the many parties. (20 last election, I think!)

So much simpler, IMHO!

Yes! I miss the way the Canucks do it. So tired of the looooong seasonon tv adds, caucuses and debates.Pick one already!!lol

Oh, yes, I definitely have a sense of humor! And yes, this thread is a joke...

But it is surprising to me that hubby and I are so not on the same page about this election! I guess I should have known when he told me he voted for Perot in 1992!
And he had the guts to talk to you again after such a long silence-treatment? What's wrong with him? lol

Abusive and violent huh? I haven't really decided on who to vote for yet but the more I read about trump supporters and the illogical stereotypes, judging and complete CRAP I may just vote for him.
Keep thinking like that and you might vote for Hillary too.

You don't watch American programs with American commercials? If you do, you still get stuck with the year long, it's merely more annoying because it's not your election. :)

Lots and lots of American programs. I don't watch any Canadian programs. I used to watch the news, but I replaced it with some apps. But we don't get the American ads. They replace them with Canadian ads, including on the American networks. So I might watch a show on NBC, but the ads would be Canadian. But I record everything, so I just fast forward through them, anyway.

But we do hear a lot about the US election. Even our news reports on it, especially who won which primary. And my FB is full of American friends. It seems like most Christians are split between Cruz and Rubio on the right. I have yet to hear of a single person voting for Hilary. The Democrats are all Bernie supporters, and he scares me as much as Trump.

I was just visiting/babysitting at my son's for over a week. He is quite enamoured with Trump, and constantly had news stations on, plus all the town hall meetings. So a little too much for me, but I would have felt the same if it was my own country.

We just had the second longest election campaign federally in the history of Canada. It was 78 days. Because each party already has its own leader, so when they determine which party had elected the most MP's, the leader of that party becomes the Prime Minister, pretty much from election night on.

We had a lot of paid political ads on TV during our election. Occasionally, I might have stopped the fast forward to watch one. The Liberal party's ads were all Trudeau 2.0 about "change." Our country fell for Obama's slogan, which Justin stole, and we are living to regret it already, between the 25,000 "refugees" (apparently none came from refugee camps, but apartments and homes! Just Justin bringing in lots of Muslims to change the religious balance in our country to Muslim. No Christians were admitted! You know, the ones who are getting beheaded in the Middle East) and the billions he seems to have given away, including important things like buying prayer rugs and Qur'ans for the Muslims, plus fixing up the housing in military bases, since we have no housing for these Muslims! Of course, like in the US, our vets still go homeless. Very sad!

But I digress! I would hate to see Rubio and Cruz splitting the vote, and Trump winning on that basis. I just know it is a long, long time till the American election is over. Fast forward through the ads, is my advice!

That's interesting because personally I think a focus on local issues and local candidates will get people much more motivated and involved. This would result in real healthy democracy. More power to states and local govs, where people can see the effect of policies and learn the voting issues firsthand. Then those candidates voted locally would represent us nationally.

With that said, it's kind of how the house and the senate work already in the USA; the president is supposed to balance those out. Instead the president gets entirely too much focus as some sort of all-powerful 'Decider'. Both parties pin their hopes and dreams on their team's candidate, and all the blame on the other.

i am aware that she was joking...realize that not everyone views these things as laughing matters...

and reports of trump supporters attacking people at their rallies are practically routine...so yes i stand by my comment that trump supporters have strong tendencies towards violence and abusive behavior...

oh please...you might as well admit that you are already planning on voting for him...you already campaign for him...

there is no faster way to lose my respect than to be so obviously dishonest...

who one decides to vote for is really none of your business. Nor do you have the right to insinuate that a group of people are violent and abusive because they support someone you don't like for president. You keep talking about your Christian duty yet you're casting stones all over the place. Who are you to tell someone they're dishonest when you really have no clue?
Not that it is your business but the reason why I "campaign" for Trump is my boyfriend is the campaign chairman for Trump in my area. When my bf goes somewhere I go with him if I'm able. I personally favor Ben Carson but chances are
he will not win and that is unfortunate. actually, I have to campaign for ALL republican candidates openly in public because I am an officer in my local Republican Party. I can't slam any of them.

oh, and I did attend a trump rally today in Madison Alabama. 30,000 trump supporters and the ONLY violent ones were black lives matter protestors and a couple of immigrants. Here's you a pic to enjoy.

Angela53510....I see you are from Canada..and I have a question. I heard online about 2 years ago from a Canadian minister that He nor any preacher in Canada can NOT say anything negative about GAYS from the pulpit, under an order that will immediately cause his license to be revoked....is that true? Thanks for reading....
