Believe in Jesus, Why?

I was asked this question and I wasn't sure how to answer, besides the "that's what the Bible says" rebuttal. I'm not sure if there is a thread for this already. I know salvation is believing that Jesus died and resurrected, etc. and repenting but the question was :

Why do you have to believe in Jesus to be saved?

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, by which we must be saved.
Acts 4:12

He fulfilled the law perfectly, He took the judgement and offered up His righteousness, His was the sacrifice without blemish
He died for you
By faith, we trade our sin and its accompanying death penalty for His righteousness and life
Through His atoning work you can be restored and in fellowship with God

Thanks, the question was posed by a 14 yr old, that is questioning why we're suppose to believe everything the Bible says. I've explained, that it boils down to faith. I'm not sure that answer satisfied her curiosity.

Faith is being persuaded....the 14 year old would need to reach that point......I am sure there are many things that your 14 year old is already persuaded about sometimes drawing out those connections helps.

Perhaps it is more difficult for little ones to sense their spiritual neediness.

I can imagine, it's hard for me as an adult, so yes, must be hard for a child.

I think explaining using circumstances the teenager can relate to makes it easier for them to comprehend or a visual representation of some sort. Most teens tune out after a while and the words you speak fall on deaf ears.
If they have little or no understanding of the fallen state of the world and the need of a Saviour maybe start there, sometimes going back to basics is necessary.

I agree that conviction within the person has to be there.

And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

Think of how different Christianity would be if Jesus did not come down from Heaven. Yes, He died on the Cross, but He also did sooo much more.

You are right, there would be no point to Christianity if HE hadn't and yes he did, was compassionate, merciful, and more.

Do you meditate on the Word. Have you not kept in your heart the teaching that we should not judge by appearances but with right judgment?

Have you never read and meditated on the teaching that some peple are disobeient by God's will?

Have you studied and meditated on the writing tht some pagans are obedient by their own nature with their own conssciences accusing or excusing them as they act?

God is Love, and He is always just. I do not need to be proven thiis truth for I KNOW by faith.

Does she need to be convicted of her own falability? If she is honest with herself and knows she falls short of the glory of God, then maybe a thinking person like her realises she needs to go to her Heavenly Father for forgiveness?

Our problem in life is to do the right thing, and not get wrapped up in selfishness that corrupts us.
Jesus declares that with friendship and communion with Him we will obtain the ability to do the right
things, and to live eternally.

His foundation of this claim is his death at the hands of sinful man, followed by His resurrection to life.
One can only discover the reality or otherwise of this claim by believing and following Him.

He is the only authority and power that can achieve this transformation of the believer, and thereby save
them from judgement.

"One must fully comprehend 'saved'...'delivered'...'born again'. One does not need to believe,
until one has the capacity to trust and have faith, natural attributes of those of a sound mind,
which also eliminates 'man-mind' illusions and imaginations of worldly origin. Vacant of spiritual
maturity, saved shall always be considered ones own identity of trust, faith and belief, as each
shall be held accountable of ones own self...whatever that may be!. No more...no less. So long
as one has been 'born again', there shall never be reason to convince the world, impossible....

Jesus was deemed moderator between those here on earth and the Father.

Therefor "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on them" (John 3:36)

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)

21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. (Mathew 19:21~23)

James 2:17 Faith without action is useless,

So what everything comes down to is getting to the Father b/c if on is able to get to the Father then one will have eternal life....

The only way to get to the Father is through Jesus (moderator between those here on earth and the Father)

Now if we look at the word "believe" > If one has an appoint with their doctor and the doctor prescribes medicine and a daily exercise regiment to follow in order for the patient to get better, then one must "believe" and follow the doctor's advice. This also applies with what Jesus said and James 2:17.

In other words, one has to physically act upon Scripture and physically help the poor and needy in order to get to the Father (If one continues to help the poor and needy until they are financially hurting, the Father at this point will reveal Himself > or His presence as God is spirit and not human). If a person can get to this stage then one has their foot in the gates of Heaven and eternal life!

That is why Jesus's death was both a physical and symbolic sacrifice! Jesus death and sacrifice means that all people are required to sacrifice for their fellow man and the poor and needy in order to get to the Father....!

The reason why a person is required to sacrifice most of what they own both monetary and material wise is Satan was given dominion over the physical world before being cast out of Heaven. Therefore those who thirst and lust for the things of the physical world their soul will end up becoming to Satan's property and be destined for eternity in Hell and vice versa for those who end up in Heaven with God!

The only other option is to Repent....!

Decide for yourself.....!

The key is that since God is the Creator and Owner of everything, everything that one sacrifices to the poor and needy can and will be replaced by God 100X and more however, be prepared to go ALL IN b/c God will expect no less as both eternity in Heaven is on the line and the knowledge that God is 100% real is on the line as well. Why is knowing God's presence so important? Once God reveals Himself then one becomes fully aware that absolutely everything is the result of God, including the existence of that person themselves!
