I don't think that asking questions and trying to get to the truth of a matter according to God's will for us is ignorance.

Isn't all scripture God breathed? Does it not say that in scripture? So if it means wives and not women does that mean according to Matthew 5:28 it's wrong to lust after wives but not unmarried women? Where in the bible does it show a woman teaching?

I have no idea about the history of the churches of Ephesus no but the scriptures here seem pretty clear and it sounds like it's referring to the church in general. Could you explain a little or point me in the direction where to look?
