Txroads, please don't mistake a zeal for truth with rudeness. Yes, some (including myself, surely) can sometimes jump in with both feet and start swingin' but there's one important fact you might be overlooking; this site comes up quite frequently in searches under a wide variety of keywords, and there are a lot of people who pop in searching for answers. We cannot, by any means, allow false doctrine to be posted without challenge. There are too many impressionable people out there who can be swayed to embrace aberrant teaching . Anyone who has been here awhile has seen it many times. False teachers, false Christians, cultists, wolves in sheep's clothing, are drawn to websites like these for the sole purpose of sowing discord. I'm not saying that lady you speak of is any of those, of course, but you must understand why our dukes are up right out of the gate sometimes.

For many folks here, this is their ministry. A place where they feel called to share the gospel and their biblical knowledge with people from around the world. Most realize that time is short. The coming of Christ must surely be near. And our desire is to point as many people toward that narrow road as we possibly can.

Do we make mistakes? Yep. Do we lose our tempers? You betcha. Do we forget that those who post here are real people with real feelings? Yes, sometimes we do.

But there are also times when standing firm with a strong rebuke is needed, and justified.

So, please don't throw the baby out with the bath water.

This is such a fun fight to watch since everyone brought popcorn anyway. Our prime minister thought that Wilders who has a racist party said that Erdogan was an Islamic monkey, but he didn't. The other one just said now the Islamic monkey is coming out of the sleeve, which is a saying and just means now we know what's going on. So then Wilders tells our prime minister to act normal man, behave. And he says: act normal yourself man!

Just been reflecting back on some of the recent threads, lemme see
if I have this:-

No one can wear pants (underwear in the UK),
but don't worry about the cold draft as we will be too busy running
for our lives from those dinosaurs.

They have been around at least a few million years, long enough
in fact to have welcomed the pod people from planet Mars, who
set up a colony on earth.

Their DNA somehow made its way into the human genome and for the
record that is why Jesus was green at birth. But don't worry we all know
eye and skin colour can change and hence the reason no one noticed this
when Jesus grew up.

Besides, all that genetically modified food we now eat makes us look at
things through rose tinted glasses, so some of us think Jesus was white,
whie others think he was brown and some even think he was purple.

Speaking of purple, people tend to go a funny shade of purpley red
when they get furious then we get a sudden urge to read and watch
Harry Potter and say things like doggone.

So did I miss anything.

And THAT is the problem! People think they have a ministry and are beating the ever loving snot out of people with the Bible! This is a discussion forum where all people give their opinions. This is not a ministry. If a person feels led of God to a ministry they need to go out and minister. Or start their own website. This is not a ministry.

I'm not precisely sure what you're getting at. I'm guessing that you're asking what if a fellow-chatter made life for you here so miserable that you were subjected to significant depression.

If that's what you mean, I'd wonder why someone would give another person online that much power over their emotional state. After all, participation on these boards is voluntary. Eleanor Roosevelt has a famous quote, "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." If we ALLOW people here to diminish us, there should be some ownership on our part that we are letting it happen. Certainly people here can be abusive. I'm not the sort of person that stands by when people are misbehaving in really awful ways. I will say something. Certainly there are ways that people can report this kind of inappropriate behavior. Maybe they aren't taking advantage of that and they should be.

All I know is that if it was hindering my HEALTH, I'd give up the screentime.

And Part 2 of this is...even if people are awful, as Christians, we are morally obligated to forgive them. Sometimes it's an instant "let it go" and sometimes it's a process.

I see your point, and it's a fair one, but there are indeed retired folks, those who are shut-ins, physically challenged, or live waaaay out in the boonies, that feel sites like these are a ministry they can contribute to in a positive way that is pleasing to the Lord.

Spreading the gospel, by any means, is ministry. It's what we're called to do. And we can do it anywhere - be it here, or out in the real world.

I appreciate your heart,I do. But its sure is hard getting ministry through all the mess that is in here.The good news is Stephanie is still in the forums and is feeling better about things. I hope everyone does their best to encourage this new sister in the Lord. It made my heart glad to know she is still here and doing ok. I thank Tx for standing up for her.Thank you brother Tx for bringing that tread back to my attention. Blessings.

Im sorry but Tx was right on this one. Stephanie was very hurt by what was said and I'm glad Tx alerted us to it. He was 100% right on this one. I hope you will see that eventually.
