22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.
Jesus was crucified by the Romans after being delivered by God. God gave his Son for the sin of the world, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." He was given up to die for our sins, taking the penalty for them, "Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification. (Romans 4:25 KJV)".
Romans 3:24-26 King James Version
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
God set forth Jesus to be a propitiation, satisfying the problem of our sin for him. In his lovingkindness God justifies believers in Jesus through the death of his Son, "He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities." (Isaiah 53:11 KJV).
Isaiah 53:10 King James Version
10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
God made Jesus' soul an offering for sin in his deliverance of Jesus to the Romans for crucifixion, "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:" (1 Peter 3:18 KJV). Jesus is truly the propitiation for our sins, the means by which God solved our sin problem. In his death we are redeemed and through his lovingkindness God saves those who have faith in Jesus.
