WomanLovesTX: I've seen a few objections to referring to Jesus as Yahshua. In response to that, although indirectly, I would like to share with you the very documents mainstream traditional church pastors use that show that His name is not Jesus. My name is Janet. No matter what country I go to and what language is spoken, my name will always be spelled J A N E T. I hope and pray this document will clear up any misconceptions about Yahshua's Hebrew name and the name of our Heavenly Father. Beyond this point, is the writing of Dr. Merrick and not my own writing and this may have to be presented in multiple posts. I've attached the web site so that you can view in pdf. Please hold your comments until "THE END".

Many Christians have asked me why I stress the importance of the original Hebrew name of the Messiah without compromise. I have to tell you, the reader, that it is because of the judgment day that will come. I can not answer my Saviour in honest appeal for my own salvation, in prayer in this life, or in request of the promise of His word, if I do not share the truth as it has been given to me by the Holy Spirit. Some day we will all answer to the Amighty Creator who name is YAH and give account for our service to Him and in seeking that the lost be saved. For that reason I wanted to give you this gift that the Almighty has given me in answer to a young 7 year old boy's question: "What is God's Name".

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none
other name under heaven
given among men, whereby we must be saved.

As a Messianic Jew by Faith today I must tell you that for years many Christians have denied this very Bible verse above, as well as other verses, and never questioned the authorities of the official Church doctrine or their denominations. They tell me that the NAME is not important and that God knows what is in their heart. Yet as a young boy I could not escape the fact that the above verse says ONE NAME REQUIRED to be SAVED.

It became obvious to me that the creator had given a set method to find salvation, receive His Holy Spirit, and show repentance and take on a set of identifying behaviours and titles by which I would show my salvation. For most Christians this is the name of Christ and Jesus. Yet as I grew up something about that began to puzzle me. It was that in my denomination they would say, "we are saved, but not the Jehovah Witnesses". Again and again I would see this in reference to the Mormons, Catholics, and different groups that did not fit into the good protestant norm.

In my young mind if the name was Jesus, and they called on that name for salvation, and then according to the legal requirements of the promise made in the Bible by God, they MUST be saved.

So at the young age of seven I got saved by saying the sinner's prayer with my mother. I felt joy of salvation in that something inside me had changed. Then I began reading the Bible. That is where most Christians did not follow me. Most who say the sinner's prayer, do not read the Bible, they depend on their preacher or priest to read it for them and tell them what to think and what it means. That is just a fact of today. I have seen the studies done by the Christian community it self. Less than 20% read the Bible and even less than that have any books or helps that will define the words, truth, or help them study the Bible in depth.

Acts 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name
whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

So if the repentance from sin was to have any hope in me, feeling a calling to share salvation to all I met, then I must know the name and the truth of what is the name given whereby we all MUST be saved.

Before you write this off and stop reading this short book, let me encourage you that as a believer in the Messiah, my faith requires that I warn you that what you are about to read is the truth and the only way we can be saved from eternal damnation. So let me share my point of view with you and then you can test what I say against the Bible and see if it is correct. The proofs I have given here are from the books used in Christian seminaries and Bible colleges. All of the references I use in this short book are the same ones in your pastor's library. Now if I use the same books that Christian colleges give their Bible school students, isn't it worth looking at?

The very act of being saved or gaining a seat at the table in Heaven is in the Holy Bible and as you can see in the verse below, is to "Call On The Name". The verse Below is from the YAH BIBLE which is available on Amazon Press and in book stores everywhere. The name of JESUS has been corrected and in this booklet you shall see proof that the name in the verse below is the real name of the Messiah.

Romans 10:13-17 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Master YAHSHUA shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things? So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of Yah.

Now if the name is not Jesus, and is Yahshua, then if I changed it and did not follow the rules of Yah God in doing so, or made an error in teaching you that name rather than Jesus, then I will be required to answer for that before the Almighty God Yahweh. So take a look at the proof below and see if I am right.

First off, let's look at the name of JESUS in the King James Version of the Bible and compare some verses to other translations which give us a clue of why the name Jesus is not the Messiah's name.

Acts 7:45 (KJV)
45 Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David;

Hebrews 4:8 (KJV)
8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

Now note the exact same verses taken from the Updated New American Standard Version:

Acts 7:45 (NASB95)
45 And having received it in their turn, our fathers brought in in with Joshua upon dispossessing the nations whom God drove out before our fathers, until the time of David.

Hebrews 4:8 (NASB95)
8 For if Joshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that.

Now as we see in the verses above, the name of JESUS was changed into the name JOSHUA in English. That is because the name Jesus from the Greek is that same as the name Joshua from the Hebrew. The King James Version translators made a mistake and put a LATIN word into the text from the GREEK because in HEBREW the name JESUS is not pronounced JESUS, but is pronounced JOSHUA.

Now if this is true, that means that the translators CHANGED THE NAME OF SALVATION by design and intent or by mishap and mistake. Either way, the NASB corrected it in these two verses, but failed to do it in the other places in the Bible where the name JESUS was mistranslated or more correctly MISTRANLITERATED.

To transliterate a word you must take the Alphabet and match phonetically the sound of the word to the new alphabet in the language you are translating to. The rule in translation is to do this with NAMES and PLACES which are called by names. During the King James Version translation process there is some question as to what Hebrew knowledge those who wrote down the words had. So let's take a look at some Christian books that can prove the correct name of the saviour.

View attachment 70430
Reference: KING JAMES BIBLE circa 1975 Thompson Chain Reference.

In this book I have included the actual scans of the text referenced so there will be no question as to the validity of the books.
Picture2.jpg

Notice the margin reference above in verse 45. It clearly says that the name here was in fact JOSHUA in the "JESUS or JOSHUA". We now know that the name of JESUS is the same as the name of JOSHUA in Hebrew and that tells me that someone REPLACED the name from the PHONETIC HEBREW SOUND of the name to the name JESUS. In Hebrew there is no letter "J" and the letter is in fact "Y" equivalent for the English "J". In Hebrew it is the letter YOD and is taken from the name of the son of nun who was his father. Joshua was the successor of Moses and his name and the Messiah's name are the same in Hebrew and sound the same when spoken.

So let me ask you one quick question, does JESUS (GEE ZEUS) sound the same as the name JOSHUA (JAH SHOE AH) in English? Now look at the sound of the name in Hebrew YAH SHOE AHH. In English some Messianic Jews write it YESHUA (means saviour) or YAHSHUA (means Yah's Salvation).

Picture3.jpg

The Modern Hebrew Alphabet above show there is no letter J in it.

Picture4.jpg

As yoyu can see the actual scans from Unger's Bible Dictionary page 681 which is enlarged below:

Picture5.jpg

Since we already know that there is no J in Hebrew, the correct meaning of the name JOSHUA is YAH O WAH is SALVATION or literally YAH SAVES. Below is the scans of the book page 713 for the name Joshua:

Picture6.jpg

Picture7.jpg

Phonetically the name JOSHUA is YAH SHOE AH and is written Yahshua. Each word in the Bible has been given a designation numbering so that pastors and scholars can study the words and have insight into the meaning and the way they are pronounced. For example, in Greek the number for JESUS is G2424 and in Hebrew the correct name of YAHSHUA is H3467. In Strong's below we can look at the numbers and information on the name of JESUS AND JOSHUA remembering that the name in Hebrew is YAHSHUA.

Picture9.jpg

So we see again in another CHRISTIAN BOOK that the name was NOT JE ZUS bus in fact JOSHUA.

Picture10.jpg

So as we see above the name of YAH SHUA is H3467 which has its root in the word SAVIOUR and SALVATION. In Short it is saying that YAH SAVES or YAH IS SALVATION.

Now notice that the small "e" is placed in italics where the name JOSHUA is in Hebrew. That is to denote that the "e" was added because the vowels were lost over time and no one knew what was supposed to be written there for the connected sounds. So in Hebrew that name JOSHUA would be written in English letters as such"

YH SH UH or in some text YH SH WH leaving the vowels out since in Hebrew they are not written down.

Picture11.jpg

Since in HEBREW JESUS is the same as JOSHUA in English why didn't the translators fix this error since the sound of the name Jesus sounds nothing like the name YAH SHUA?

Picture12.jpg

As we can see above in Strong's, the YEHOWSHUWA or more correctly the YH in Hebrew having the correct vowel sound of YAH in it, as in HalleluYAH and DANIYAH which is a city in Iraq by the same phonetic sound of my name in Hebrew, that being taken from the Hebrew words numbers H3068 and H3467 as recorded by Strong's. According to Strong's, the long version of the name is Yah Ho Shu Ah or Yahushua.

Picture13.jpg

So lets go back to the GREEK and see if Strong's has noted the same reference to the name Yahshua in Greek.

Picture15.jpg

And there we see it, G2424 JESUS is in fact from H3091 which is JOSHUA in English and YAHSHUA in Hebrew which is "THE NAME OF OUR LORD", ee ay sooce in Greek is phonetic Yah Shoe.

Picture16.jpg

Now the vowel point or letter that is in question here is the NAME of WHO saves. Since we have the word of our creator in the word HalleluYAH and the "O" was added in the word during the time of the King James Translation, we defer back to the ROOT WORD of H3467 pronounced YAHSHUA.

The "O" was taken from a MODERN vowel point which elongated the name of JOSHUA to JAH HO SHOE AH phonetically. That is in fact caused by the fact that the Jewish Scribes tried to cover up the name of YAH by putting the vowel markings for the title ADONAY in place so they would not say the name of God. We can prove this name and that Jesus came from Joshua with a few more references and some tracing back to the Holy Name of the Creator Almighty.

First let's look at the name of GOD and how the sound is in the record of mans spoken history passed down from age to age until today. Here is what Strong's says:

Picture17.jpg

Above is the real name of God which is YAH or "the sacred name". In the book of Exodus in Chapter 3 Moses meets with the creator on the mountain and in the King James Bible it says "I AM" is HIS NAME. But in reality what was written in HEBREW for HIS NAME was YHWH, which is called the Holy Name which most Jews will not even say due to their traditions of not speaking the Holy Name. Yet the Bible tells us that we should speak the name, use the name, and call on the name for salvation.

Psalms 68:3-5 But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before Yah: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice unto Yah, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him. A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is Yah in his holy habitation.

Picture18.jpg

So when we look at Strong's we see that the name is YAHWEH or YAH O VAH but the short form is YAH. The name of the Father and the Son have the name of YAH in it and the Messiah's name is not Jesus, it is YAHSHUA or YAHOSHUA in the elongated form meaning YAH THE SAVIOUR and in the short form meaning YAH SAVES. The "V" and the "W" in Hebrew are the same, and in the time Moses got God's name it was in fact pronounced Yah Hu Wah for the YHWH accept on the day of Atonement when Yah uoo Weh or Yahweh was used.

So when the Bible say there is ONE NAME and YAH IS ONE, it is in fact telling us that the name of salvation is YAH. When we call on it, we are saved. We find further evidence in Vine's which shows that the Name Joshua and Jesus in Hebrew are in fact the same sound and name.

Picture19.jpg
Picture20.jpg

Now as we see in the conclusion of this short book, I have given you proof from the Christian books your pastor most likely uses and used as references in Bible College. So look at one last book published by World Bible Publishers and Nelsons who bought out World Publishers a few years back.

By what name do you think tens of thousands of Christians living in North America and Great Britain were saved? Yah or Jesus? Do you think they cried out saying 'Yah, save me!' or 'Jesus save me!' ? Or do you think they are not yet saved?

YAH SHUA is the name of the man most people call Jesus, yet the question now is, who changed the name and why? Could it be Satan tricked men into replacing the name of salvation? Could it be that Prophesy was to bring about a restoration of his True name in these last days? One thing is for sure, the name is being restored and many are getting saved and stop using false names for the Creator and the Saviour. Here is the warning that we are told about not embracing the TRUTH and loving this TRUTH of his name, and why so many Christians and Others have refused this truth:

2 Thessalonians 2:7-13
For the mystery of iniquity (lawlessness) doth already work....because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause Yah shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. But we are bound to give thanks alway to Yah for you, brethren beloved of Yahshua, because Yah hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

Now let me ask you one last Question, Is it lawful to falsify someone's name? Use a false name in fraud? Sign a wrong name to a check? So if it is unlawful to do these things, then even more so, by the third commandment, we should not falsely use titles and false names to replace the Name of Yah and Yahshua Messiah.

Zechanriah 6:11-13 Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua (YAHSHUA) the son of Josedech, the high priest; And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh Yah of hosts, sayng, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH (Messiah); and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of Yah: Even he shall build the temple of Yah; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.

Zechariah wrote this about 430 years before the man known as Yahshua came telling the children of Israel that the "Man whose name is the Messiah" was YAHSHUA. So Shouldn't YOU?

To Be Saved
  1. Pray and ask Yahshua to come into your heart, repent from sin, and start keeping his Ten Commandments as a sign that you are His.
  2. Get baptized by immersion the same way Yahshua was. This is a public confession and a symbolic cleansing that shows you are dead to sin and the flesh, and rising up in Yahshua's name.
  3. Find a fellowship of believers who are following the Truth and worshipping Yah and Yahshua and not adding anything to the Bible FAITH.
  4. Read the Bible daily and get free helps online at Yah's Space A free online social network for Messianic Believers.

Thanks for taking time to post this!

About 4 months ago, give or take, a strong desire to know what the names were compelled me to do a lot of praying and research. In turn, Yah showed me many truths and misconceptions I need to know. The word is full of promises to those who seek to know Him and long to see His face. That is truth! HalleluYAH!

I saw this verse:
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

...and I wanted to call on Him!!! what is His name????
,,,,,,,what about these verses????
[SUP]19 [/SUP]O Lord, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.

[SUP]20[/SUP]Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods?

[SUP]21 [/SUP]Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is The Lord.

My Parents are long gone, and they didn't know what I've learned through internet where you can access libraries all over the world, they didn't have the resources available today. Their generation was not the last generation, and the Word says all things in due season and appointed times. They were God fearing people, and I'm trusting in Him about things I can't know answers to.

I don't know for sure if this generation is the last generation, but I do know He is making His name known to those who are seeking to know.

I think many are saved. What do you think?
Yes many, by faith, calling out to JESUS not calling out to the name of Yeshua or Yah or other variants...nor by trusting the Torah.

What did you think of the reference materials that Dr. Merrick presented that showed that the name was and is Yeshua?

I remember when someone first brought me this info, I ignored it, and then around 7 years later another said it to me, I ignored it, 2 weeks later I went back and found the person, and studied it out for myself.

I am now glad to throw off tradition and seek truth and nothing less.

Mattithyah 15:2-3, "Why do Your disciples transgress the traditions of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat. But He answered, and said to them: And why do you transgress the Laws of Yahweh by your traditions?"

Yeremyah 23:26-27, "How long will this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies? Yes, they are prophets of the deceit of their own minds plan and scheme, to cause My people to forget My Name through their dreams, which they tell every man to his neighbor, just as their fathers have forgotten My Name for Baal."

Hebrews 4:8 (KJ21)8 For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterwards have spoken of another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (ASV) | 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterward of another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (AMP) |
8 [This mention of a rest was not a reference to their entering into Canaan.] For if Joshua had given them rest, He [God] would not speak afterward about another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (CEB) |
8 If Joshua gave the Israelites rest, God wouldn’t have spoken about another day later on.

Hebrews 4:8 (CJB) |
8 For if Y’hoshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later of another “day.”

Hebrews 4:8 (CEV) |
8 If Joshua had really given the people rest, there would not be any need for God to talk about another day of rest.

Hebrews 4:8 (DARBY) | 8 For if Jesus had brought them into rest, he would not have spoken afterwards about another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (DRA)
8 For if Jesus had given them rest, he would never have afterwards spoken of another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (ERV) | 8 We know that he would not have spoken afterward of another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (EXB)
|
8 [L For; Now] If Joshua [C Moses’ successor, who led God’s people into the Promised Land;Josh. 3—4] had ·led the people into that [L given them] rest, God would not have spoken later about another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (GNV) | 8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not after this have spoken of another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (GW) | 8 If Joshua had given the people rest, God would not have spoken about another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (GNT) | 8 If Joshua had given the people the rest that God had promised, God would not have spoken later about another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (HCSB) | 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day.

Hebrews 4:8-10 (PHILLIPS) | 8-10 For if Joshua had given them the rest, we should not find God saying, at a much later date, “today”. There still exists, therefore, a full and complete rest for the people of God. And he who experiences his real rest is resting from his own work as fully as God from his.

Hebrews 4:8 (JUB) | 8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then he would not afterward have spoken of another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (KJV) | 8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (AKJV) | 8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (LEB) | 8 For if Joshua had caused them to rest, he would not have spoken about another day after these things.

Hebrews 4:8 (TLB) | 8 This new place of rest he is talking about does not mean the land of Israel that Joshua led them into. If that were what God meant, he would not have spoken long afterwards about “today” being the time to get in.

Hebrews 4:8-11 (MSG) | 8-11 And so this is still a live promise. It wasn’t canceled at the time of Joshua; otherwise, God wouldn’t keep renewing the appointment for “today.” The promise of “arrival” and “rest” is still there for God’s people. God himself is at rest. And at the end of the journey we’ll surely rest with God. So let’s keep at it and eventually arrive at the place of rest, not drop out through some sort of disobedience.

Hebrews 4:8 (NOG) | 8 If Joshua had given the people rest, God would not have spoken about another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (NASB) | 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that.

Hebrews 4:8 (NCV) | 8 We know that Joshua did not lead the people into that rest, because God spoke later about another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (NET) | 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken afterward about another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (NIRV) | 8 Suppose Joshua had given them rest. If he had, God would not have spoken later about another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (NIV) | 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (NIVUK) | 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (NKJV) | 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (NLV) | 8 If Joshua had led those people into God’s rest, He would not have told of another day after that.

Hebrews 4:8 (NLT) | 8 Now if Joshua had succeeded in giving them this rest, God would not have spoken about another day of rest still to come.

Hebrews 4:8 (NRSV) | 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not speak later about another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (NRSVA) | 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not speak later about another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (NRSVACE) | 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not speak later about another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (NRSVCE) | 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not speak later about another day.

Yehudim in Moshiach 4:8 (OJB) | 8 For if Yehoshua [ben Nun] had brought them to a place of menuchah (rest), Hashem would not have spoken of another "Yom" after that [TEHILLIM 95:7].

Hebrews 4:8 (RSV) | 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not speak later of another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (RSVCE) | 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not speak later of another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (VOICE) | 8 Now if Joshua had been able to lead those who followed him into God’s rest, would God then have spoken this way?

Hebrews 4:8 (WEB) | 8 For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterward of another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (WE) | 8 If Joshua had led those people to rest, God would not have talked later about another day.

Hebrews 4:8 (WYC) | 8 For if Jesus had given rest to them, he should never speak of other after this day [after that day].

God's name is who He is by nature, not merely a title. We don't worship a title, we worship who He is. God's title is just a description of His name. It is detailing of His nature. Truly I say that an example is Emmanuel given to Jesus even though His title was Jesus. It's not about the title, but about who He is. To praise His name is not to praise a title, it's to praise who He is.

Are we not to say the name of the Father and the Messiah when we call out?

Are we not to say the name of the Father and the Messiah when we call out?

Acts 4:12, "Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other Name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
To call out His name is to call out who He is. If you call out to God Almighty, the sole Creator of everything. There isn't going to be some foreign being listening. Whether it's Jesus or Emmanuel, whether it's Yahweh or God. They are descriptions of His true name. Jesus is the name by which we are saved.

One you say, "a name is who He is", If we are going off of who He is Yahshua means Yahweh's salvation, or something similar. (Yahweh's will save His people) etc

So to me Yahshua describes Him perfectly.

but then you say, "Jesus is the name by which we are saved".

But the letter "J" did not exist until the 16th century, and even in the greek originals it doesent say Jesus but Iosus, would it not be better to use the Messiah's real name?

I mean, if you choose to use Jesus that is your choice I am not knocking you for it, but I am saying would it not be better or best to use the name that is His true original name, the name by which He was called to His face?

I think people are too focused on the title tho. See my quote below, this is what the Lord said when Moses called upon His name. If you understand that Yahweh is the very deepest description of His Divine Name. Then you will understand that a name doesn't consist of letters. When Jesus told us to baptize believers in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, why wasn't the word "name" plural for each title? Because the name of Jesus is the name of the Father as in Isaiah says, "I, even I, am the Lord, and there is no Savior besides me."

Abraham didn't know the title "Yahweh", neither did Isaac, neither did Jacob. But isn't He referred to also as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob?

Since we know Jesus, we know the Father.

When it comes to Jesus, His name also is the Anointed Salvation of Him who is He. To believe in Him is to believe in His name. His name is who He is. Savior.

Abraham did know Yahweh's name, he prayed with it:

Genesis 12:8, "And he went from there to the hill east of Beth El, and he pitched his tent there; Beth El was to the west of him, and Ai was to the east. There he built an altar to Yahweh, and there he prayed with the Name of Yahweh."

"And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD."

Anytime you see LORD all 4 capitals, (ORD smaller but still capital) it read YHWH in the original text.

The verse in exodus 6:3 is a negative affirmation and mistranslated in most translations.

exodus 6:3 I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Yaaqob as Yl Shaddai; Almighty Strength, but by MY NAME YAHWEH, was I not known to them?

Unless you believe in a blatant contradiction of Scripture.

How would Abraham pray with a name he didnt knw?

Also Adam and Eve knew the name YHWH: (they were still alive at this time)

Genesis 4:26, "And as for Seth, to him also a son was born; and he named him Enosh. It was then that the Name of Yahweh began to be invoked again."

But you see satan had worked double time:

Yeremyah 23:26-27, "How long will this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies? Yes, they are prophets of the deceit of their own minds plan and scheme, to cause My people to forget My Name through their dreams, which they tell every man to his neighbor, just as their fathers have forgotten My Name for Baal."

Revelation 12:9, "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, who deceives the whole world...."

The book of Genesis was written by Moses, who wrote it for the people of God. Moses added Yahweh for the reader's sake, the generations after God revealed His name.
